Day Four – 09 June 2009

Okay! Talked to G in the morning, before leaving at around 11am. fetched mummy to Goodwill to do shopping first, while we went to Blade Runners Ice Complex for iceskating :D :D :D iceskating rocks woohoo. having been out of touch for the past 4 years, we spent like the first 30mins going round the rink and grabbing the sides (: after that i kinda got the hang of it heehee. there were these pro people skating around and zooming around, doing all sorts of cool things but after they left, we were in less danger hahaha x) then we had the whole rink to ourselves and finally dared to go right to the center :D after that was a breeze cos we were just skating around and trying to do more new stuff (: HAHA there was this little girl that came in with double blades, and her daddy essentially dragged her in front of him. haha so cute. she wasn’t even standing straight x) yay iceskating is fun. feet hurt after that though D:

went back to Goodwill (: shopped! i got an Aeropostale hoodie cos my current one’s getting small. and i got new court shoes for guitar, and 3-inch black stilettos for Rare Occasions Only ;D .: more stuff to add on to my list yeah!

after that we rushed back to Aunty Pollyn’s house :D had snacks, showered, changed to more formal attire (: tried my heels for the night. ouch. hahaha we went to Station Square for dinner with daddy’s professor from CMU, Professor Eric Nyberg. ended up eating at Joe’s Crab Shack (which brought back memories from my birthday in Pittsburgh :D). hah after fish&chips, we went up Mount Washington on the Monongahela Incline. pretty view! camwhored at the top ;D yay that was about all. went back down, Prof. Nyberg came to see our Hummer, and that was that :D

 

Day Five – 10 June 2009

Today we were up really early, about 5plus. got ready to go white water rafting in Ohiopyle, PA! ;D yay i love whitewaterrafting woo. okay we were going to take the Lower Yough, which was the middle level (Class 3-4). Upper Yough was Class 4-5, and Lower Yough (we took that before and it was a bore) was Class 1-2. the admin part’s boring, but we eventually got our stinky helmets and lifejackets and went to the starting point. had a briefing thing, but thank God we had a guide with us so it was easy for us :D our guide’s name was Keith, and our raft was nice and big and blue and GUESS WHAT. THE RAFT NUMBER WAS 308. i nearly died 8D hahahaha so cool right! i know. okay continue. so yeah the water was freezing, and the rapids were just awesome. paddling is great fun ;D i took back left, beside Keith on back right. hahah he’s funny. i was screaming like mad sometimes :D we have a video we bought so maybe i’ll show you sometime. anyway we stopped for sandwiches (lunch) halfway, and boy, was i freezing! i got purple lipgloss then :D hahaha get it? ohkay we had a total of 15 rapids in all ;D with cute names, too. yay i shall go back there and do the Upper Yough sometime ;D

showered at the cubicles there. then we went to Kohl’s and changed our teeshirt (the ones we got as gifts) sizes cos they were way too big D; then we went to Arby’s and got a burger and a shake. headed to Goodwill, i got denim threequarts. uh walked over to Rite-Aid, got food and more stuff there :D hah it was fun. then we drove to Pastor Rich’s house and jumped on the trampoline there! we played on the swings, then planned our escape route to dash inside and avoid the hyper dog. mission failed. i ended up with no escape cos there was this closed door and the dog just bounded right up and i screamed my head off. whoops. faith was scared stiff too x) pizza for dinner – Hawaiian and pepperoni ;D played Wii Fit and DDR. hahahaha apparently i’m good at that bubble balance game and the strength exercises. that involve balance. thank ballet :D apparently i’m good at DDR too. thank ballet again ;D yay. after that we went homeeeee and fell asleep.

 

Day Six – 11 June 2009

Today me and faith are basically at home (the basement) – doing laundry, attempting to do work, and playing with the kids upstairs. watched The Twelve Dancing Princesses just now with them :D lunch was Clam Chowder soup and chex mix. had an early dinner of dumplings and apple juice. all good :D ciao! more tomorrow. oh yeah schedule – tomorrow (friday) we’re going to Kennywood Park, a theme park; and Uncle Jim/Aunty Tracy’s house :D saturday not sure, we might be picking strawberries and stuff. sunday we’ve got church, and then we’ll leave Pittsburgh for Buffalo, New York. Niagara Falls and all :D that’s all i’m releasing for now! :D

have to get back and decide on a NEW stupid youth organisation for SS. i am so annoyed.

so i’ll taste every moment;

Day Three – 08 June 2009

today’s gonna be a short update, cos i have to get started on chem and chinese, and find a new organisation for SS (and re-do ES) AGAIN D; i am scared sick. i have no clue how i’m going to make myself pass this.

ohmygosh. anyway i want to shower soon so i’ll make this quick (: today we didn’t go strawberry-picking in the end cos Faith was totally against it and no one was SUPER excited about it anyway. so, whatever (: uh we went driving to PNC bank first, then to our old apartment & school, in Banksville! Crane Village stayed the same, and we recognised the pool, the basketball court, the playground, everything :D woohoo. School looked the same too! met our principal, Dr. Washington – she had us in her first year in Banksville and she’s retiring this year :D she still remembers everything! even the classes we were in and think-a-thon and the April Fools’ joke we played on her – EVERYTHING (: then we met Mrs O’Neill and she talked to us too :D then we waited like forever for Mr O’Neill, my fifth grade teacher, who went home to check on his new windows, and just when we gave up and were about to drive off, he appeared! :D looked exactly the same whoo. hahaha he recognised us like immediately ;D ahhh he’s so awesome yay. and he just went back to Ireland heh. anyway he had to get back to class pretty soon D: but at least we met him! he was like, Bye Gracie! when he went in (cos’ that’s what they called me back in 2004-05) :D :D :D

we had lunch at Arby’s – love their chocolate malt swirl shake and curly fries :D hahaha i still remember Arby’s for my “for here or to go? yeah.” thing. nevermind only some people will get it HAHA. ohkay right so uh then we went to Red, White & Blue (a thrift store lol) to shop. didn’t buy a lot la D: and i was kinda annoyed anyway.

dinner at Olive Garden’s with Aunty Pollyn & Uncle Philip and the cute little girls + boy :D hohoho once again, peektures on the camera, so they’ll come later. it was a good dinner though yay! my favourite soup & pasta & bread and stuff whooyay. we had to choose based on soup description cos there' wasn’t any usual thing like Cream of Mushroom and stuff :D turned out i picked the best of the lot and i got a refill cos it was gud. heh then i couldn’t finish pasta whoops. well, anyway. that’s about it. tmr we’re going iceskating at 11.30 (: so i’ll have time in the morning to do some stuff on here. and that’s when everyone’s on anyway. whoops but it’ll be distracting D: ARGH STUPID WORK. and just think, when we get back to school, we have PTs and tingxie and titrations and chem quizzes to greet us. whoopiedadoo –.- SHEESH.

Day Two – 07 June 2009

Hello! :D now it’s night here, 9.30pm, which means everyone in Singapore is having breakfast/sleeping in. HAHAHA. ohkay shall start from yesterday so i won’t forget (:

still waited for the stupid LATE plane. oh then we had Macs for dinner :D nothing beats a fillet-o-fish with fries and lovely apple pie (: the taste’s different from Singapore’s you know :D heehee. anyway we finally got on the plane and i slept for the whole 1.5 hours heh. okay then we reached washington DC! whooooo. okay there was another nice awesome guy who helped us alot :D firstly, we were late for collecting the car, and the rental shop would be closing in like 20mins (all the stupid plane delay’s fault, of course). so we had to chiong like mad. so me and my mom stayed and waited for the baggage and hoping that our lost luggage would appear, while daddy and faith and the guy ran out. he was so nice and quickly banged on the last bus’ door thing and got them in. the bus driver was nice too :D so anyway they got there fast and we were supposed to get an SUV but we were so late alrd. so in the end, the guy asked my dad if he wanted to pay $5 more a day for a more luxurious Hummer, and my dad was like NO. hahahahahah but then the guy was like, “well, i’ll just throw it in free for you anyway.” HAHA cos it was the only car left HAHAHAH. well, it’s pretty big (anything is compared to our nissan sunny :D) and all our luggage fit in and inside is so cool i swear. shall not go into details cos i’m tired :/ anyway it’s not very pretty (it looks like a military vehicle) but shall let you on the secret of the car later.

okay so after that we went to get our GPS from a friend in DC! drove like dunno how long and were so confused but we finally got there :D my daddy is so good at adjusting back to left-hand-drive i swear. and the car’s so high but he can still drive as smoothly as ever. whooo. so we got the GPS, and finally decided to get the kinda ex hotel cos we were so tired and it was late (11plus) and we should get sleep. so we ended up in this really awesome hotel zomg (: It’s the Hampton Inn, part of the Hilton family, which is like whoa. the room’s gorgeous, reminds me of the Australia one :D we got a free upgrade to a bigger room and it’s so pretty (: but me and faith had to get the sofa bed while my parents got the huge one D: oh, whatever. drank decaf coffee with my usual billions of packets of sugar & sweetener & creamer :D correction: i drank my decaf coffee milk tea :D extra sweet. yeah man. went to sleep soon after, lalala.

ah, good. done with that. now, this morning! woke up early, showered (ooh hot water) and went down for breakfast. ate like, ALOT. hohoho. we even ta-baoed from there la so embarrassing :D like thieves like that HAH. well, (insert long car ride). we drove to pittsburgh, about 4 hours? yeah we were going to our old church back in 2004-05 :D Homestead Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC)! hee we were late for the 11o’clock service but some friends waited outside for us :D needless to say, a lot of tears and talking and squeals heh. Aunty Caroline & Aunty Marsha were like the first two to greet us :D then we went into service and had to stand up and all that. it was just so sweet. (cuts elaboration, will tell you eventually but not now man) service was short and sweet (about an hour?) and holy communion was good. i love Pastor Rich’s sermons. they beat all :D he can make it funny, relevant, short and powerful all at the same time. and engaging. you can never fall asleep there :D love it.

picnic at Aunty Rosie’s after that! lots of people came :D so touched (: awesome food, awesome fellowship. it was fantastic. there was candy, hot dogs, hamburgers, brownies, a decorated cake for us (celebrating your return? something like that, decorated by Uncle Brian – SUPER PRETTY) i checked my mail for awhile – talked to rachel (the nocturnal) and ololade for a while (: peektures not here cos in the camera D: but i’ll put it up sometime soon :D played in the playground awhile (swings!) and in the game room with the dartboard and stuff. and we got lovely presents too omg. got a teeshirt, tickets to Kennywood Park (amusement park!), bottles, LOADS of candy :D man, they are so sweet. and i do not mean the candy. unfortunately, due to reasons i shall not state but you can ask me about (Cos it takes too long), i ran right into a screendoor and crashed it down and made a little hole in it D: want to know then ask me. BUT NOW MY ARM HURTS BIG TIME D: i didn’t just scrape it, i think it’s a little swollen or what :\ oh man.

Aunty Rosie’s niece Paula is adorable by the way. okay anyway, we drove in our Hummer to Aunty Pollyn’s house :D where i am now (: we’re staying here for a week. man, their house is HUGE. we’re occupying their basement and it’s like an apartment. with toilets, a room, a HUGE open space (where the beds are), a kitchen thing, a table and chairs, and a fireplace. gosh, it’s gigantic. and this is just the BASEMENT. on top is another mansion whoo. the kids are adorable. four little ones ;D heh spaghetti for dinner, awesome shower, shall go sleep now :D update done. phew.

Day One, 06 Jun 2009

Update! well, i’m in transit, waiting at Narita Airport, and I’m going to board the plane for Detroit soon. We still have one more plane to catch after that, to DC, so a total of three planes whoo. we just took the plane from Singapore for like 6 hours, and yeah landed here :D

teehee i’m using Windows Live Writer so i’ll only be able to publish this when i get Internet connection, which is not soon. so for now i’m saving this as draft yay. kay anyway i forgot to bring my journal, so I guess i’ll type stuff here, since this is the first pathetic holiday I brought my laptop and a bag full of books URGH. oh WLW is still stuck on my old hot pink layout whee. hah but i can’t refresh and tell them that they’re old and outdated cos NO INTERNET CONNECTION RAWR D: i am so upset. especially now, when it’s -checks time- 1.22pm in Singapore and people will be online but NO, i can’t use the internet and research/msn/blog/anything. retardedddd. hahaha ohkay but anyway i didn’t sleep last night, stayed up till we left home at 3 :D talked to yuen&jolie&maria&angee before they went to bed, msged gee, then nicenice hui&rach pei-ed me until i left home :D and the nocturnal rachel is so awesome, i swear. haha you know when i reached the airport and everything already and used internet there, I STILL TALKED TO HER. isn’t she fantastic! drawing anatomy and dunno what weird body parts some more (: power man rach :D

the plane ride was ohkay. pretty smooth (: kids’ meals are the best cos we always get to eat before everyone else. But we’re talking Northwest so it’s not as nice as SIA, which gives us candy and yummy things ;d woohoo. i keep getting distracted on the plane! not my fault, I wish i didn’t have all this nonse to do D: slept a bit as i promised G, and watched Hairspray (insert G’s squealing) and 3/4 of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. amanda bynes is so pretty D; attempted to study chem. failed, I think. oh wait but there was this super nice gentlemanly black guy sitting beside me – he was so sweet I swear, I was struggling to get my jacket on, and he helped me get it on hahaha. and then i wanted to throw trash but the lady walked past without seeing me (cos i was inside and she didnt see) and he literally dragged her by the arm back and signalled for her to let me throw my rubbish away :D so nice right! like the sit&reach guy ;D and he didn’t even say a word some more. i think if the world were filled with people like that, wow.

you know the stupid checkout woman! she stole my scissors D: rawr the cute yellow ones! so now i’d have to bring new ones to school. and then she ransacked my bag and took the scissors alrd, then passed the bag back to us and just said, “cannot carry” and walked off! cos she’s Japanese you see. I know that i shouldn’t be mean and that it’s not their fault, but seriously, no one understands what they’re shouting about. it’s so frustrating when they go yelling about and you only get snippets of words and nothing else so in the end, you ignore them and go on :\ ah well but not their fault la. just not very professional luh. AHH MY SCISSORS! it went through how many previous immigration things already and no one cared until now ): but i guess she’s doing her job so whatever la hahaa.

well, i should be getting going soon. so i shall log off and stuff first, so i can go in the plane early :D shall update when at Detroit heh. ttyl.

hello! i’m backkk. okay we’re at detroit airport now :D the ride was super long can. heh i wrote down the words for two chinese kewens :D if anything got in i don’t know :X slept some. uh oh the big screen in front was showing a couple of shows heh! Like He’s Just Not That Into You, which brought back funny memories of mehuigee being SUPER BORED. it’s such a long draggy meaningless show. one of the worst chickflicks ever. but i was watching and even before the people spoke, i’d remember what they say ;D my memory is awesome manxz. watched a little bit oh Hotel For Dogs too. I LOVE DOGS :D anyway my jacket stinks bleah D; the stupid plane seat la. now i smell like cigar smoke and socks and gross things and it’s super strong some more can :/ RAR. the worst part is that i won’t get to wash this jacket till two days later. ew ew ew.

oh the time thing is really interesting (: now is 4.52am in Singapore (hence PM in america), about the time I was talking to Rachel yesterday at Changi Airport. which means that essentially ONE DAY has passed with everyone doing everything while i’m in planes transiting here and there and wasting life ;o what a revelation. it seems so short that I can’t believe an entire day in Singapore, or anywhere else for that matter, has passed :D i’m hungry D: they won’t serve food in the next plane to Washington DC because it’s only a 1.5 hour flight :/ darn.

at baggage collection just now, we lost a luggage. it was the luggage with all our clothes (and my favourite clothes) so we worried like mad. someone must have taken it wrongly but anyway all the luggages were kept back again cos it was just a check thing and then they’d be returned to the general collection together so i hope we get it back! pray pray pray. it’s cold here, i’m a little cold in two layers of clothes, and whenever i get sniffly i zip my jacket all the way up woo.

we’re supposed to board soon! maybe the plane got delayed i think :/ sian luh. well, when we get to DC we’re gonna get our rented SUV (whooyay!) and head to the motel. and rest our sleep-deprived bodies. i might get internet connection, but i doubt anyone will be on at 10-11am (ST) plus D: usually in Singapore it’s only me on anyways. what a shame, hahaha. but oh well, i can always email. the Internet rocks :D

D: that’s like 2 hours later! i am so pissed gahhh D:
